Voluntary Housing Support Services has been successfully supporting Volunteer run Housing Associations for over 15 years.
Voluntary Housing Support Services provides practical day to day support to voluntary housing associations. Support is provided to the board members with regard to governance and best practices. Operational support is provided with regards to tenancy management, rent management, book-keeping, accounts preparation for auditing, property maintenance both reactive and planned. Regulation compliance supports are provided with regard to Charity Regulation submissions, AHBRA (Approved Housing Body Regulatory Authority) returns and RTB (Residential Tenancy Board) registrations and renewals.
In recent times, members are planning mergers and/or takeovers with other like minded voluntary housing associations. VHSS is providing supports to these members.
Recent increases in regulation and other mandatory social housing obligations have resulted in greater administrative demands on volunteers’ time and resources. With the increasing workload and the added difficulty in board renewals, the question to be asked is “who will manage our association in one year, five years and into the future?”
